USA; Sunday morning alcohol sales now in Lauderdale

Samstag 19. Februar 2011 von htm

Anyone interested in having a mimosa or blood mary with Sunday brunch before noon can head out to bars and restaurants for the first time this weekend. Mayor Jack Seiler signed an ordinance Friday that loosens longstanding restrictions on Sunday alcohol sales. Under the law, businesses can begin serving alcohol as early as 7 a.m. rather than wait until noon.
The Sunday hours for alcohol sales now are the same as the rest of the week. The later hours are a product of blue laws that historically restricted commerce on Sundays to protect it as a day of worship. (Source: Google Alcohol News, 02/19/11) weblogs.sun-sentinel.com, 02/18/11
