Auf dem Marienplatz gilt von heute an ein Alkoholverbot. Eine entsprechende Rechtsverordnung der Stadt, die zunächst bis zum 30. Oktober befristet ist, untersagt das Konsumieren alkoholhaltiger Getränke auf allen öffentlichen Flächen des Platzes. David L. Rosenbloom, President and CEO of CASA writes: „Today marks an important transition in the life of CASA as we adapt our 17-year leadership structure and welcome Join Together into our organization.
Joseph A. Califano, Jr., CASA’s founder, is stepping down as President. His vision created CASA as the nation’s leading voice calling on Americans to recognize the burden of addiction then act to prevent and treat it. Luckily for CASA and the country, he will continue to play an active role as Chairman of the Board.
Today I take office as President and CEO and I look forward to working with Joe and the extraordinarily talented staff of CASA and Join Together. I thank Joe and the CASA Board for the honor and challenge they have given me. I promise them, and all of you who have come to trust and support CASA, that I will continue the high standards of integrity in research and principled advocacy that have been CASA’s hallmarks. The General Council, on 30 April 2009, agreed to reappoint Director-General Pascal Lamy for a second term of four years as from 1 September 2009.
