A Package Of Measures Is Needed.
Switzerland could reduce the alcopop sales by a special tax to a quarter. But still the alcopops are a big success for the industry. Now many youths mix whiskey with orange juice ore other soft drinks or energy drinks. Taxes on spirits should also rise. Then the industry brought new flavoured beers, they should be taxed like alcopops. And if possible there should be minimum prices, because big shops can bear the taxes themselves and sell to the old prices. Alcohol taxes should be used for prevention and rehabilitation first in order to make them more accepted by the public.
